The commemorative wall and walkway will be permanent monuments to the untold number of African Americans and others who made contributions in their own inimitable way, but have not received recognition.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”
--George Santayana
· If Slavery is to be fully understood, the stories of persons who prevailed and preserved in spite of heinous dehumanization need to be told and memorialized.
· The U.S. National Slavery Museum Wall and Walkway will provide that opportunity.
· The museum will help people to discover and thereby better appreciate their history.
· The museum is also about discovering and promoting the contributions made by Americans.
· Your loved one's name will be on the site of the U.S. National Slavery Museum, displayed prominently for years to come.
· The museum will be the only center totally immersed and dedicated to American slavery. Be a part of this history-making endeavor
