Reflections on American Slavery “Selected Artifacts from the U.S. National Slavery Museum

 

Through this exhibit the United States National Slavery museum is pleased to showcase its growing collection.  The exhibit will include rare artifacts, broadsides and rare slave documents. 

The vision of this exhibit is to:

- enlighten people about slavery in America

- empower people to take action in their lives and communities to combat injustice.

- Create a future that fulfills the promise of equality on which our nation was founded.

Exhibit Description

Contents:       

- 30 framed images (approx. 16 x 20) drawn by museum artist, Lynn Wilder

- 6 cases of rare artifacts

- 10-20 rare broadsides (approx. 20 x 24)

- reproduction artifacts

- census records, deeds of sale, estate settlement of slaves, inventories of slaves and receipts for sale of slaves

- 2 kiosks (equipment provided) interactive and video/audio

Space Requirements:  3,500 square feet (can be adapted to accommodate galleries and smaller square footage and can also be configured to accommodate adjoining galleries or areas)

Fees:  $50,000 plus shipping cost

Exhibition Period:  4 months minimum
